Analyst, author, professor, soldier, Bruce Oliver Newsome, Ph.D., writes and publishes on defense, security, risk, military science, military history, and literary fiction. After an undergraduate degree in War Studies at London University, and concurrent military service, he studied political science and international security at the Universities of Pennsylvania, Columbia, and Reading. He spent five years consulting to federal clients on defense and security, then joined academia as a professor. He held standing faculty positions at University of Texas, University of San Diego, University of California Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, and the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. He now works in security analysis and management.
